Dear Sir / Madam,
RE: HEARING OF COMMUNITY COMPLAINTS “KIMEEZA” AT MINAKULU SUB -COUNTY HEADQUARTERS IN OYAM DISTRICT:
Please, refer to the copy of the report by TAACC field staff attached. Briefly, there is the allegation of mismanagement of a community project and lack of accountability of Ugx. 40 million for a group project in Minakulu Sub County amongst complaints.
TAACC is working in Apac, Kole and Oyam districts to make the voice of the weak and side lined person heard so that the leaders can help them address any problem in the community with funding from Democratic Governance Facility (DGF). TAACC feels that the 300 farmers that were meant to benefit from the group project that was intended to benefit them and which they contributed some fund to ensure that the project was established are being side lined by some powerful persons that need some intervention of an authority to ensure that the target beneficiaries get the benefit from the project. There is also some problem of lack of accountability that the executives of the farmers group are said to have committed that they can be compelled only by an authority to correct.
TAACC has therefore organised a meeting that is aimed at addressing the problems documented in the copy of the report attached on Tuesday, 17th May 2016 at 12:00 pm at Minakulu Sub-County Headquarter in Oyam District. This letter is to invite you as a concerned citizen and authorities have been invited to help the group members to get redress. TAACC has also invited Officers from Apac District Farmers Association (ADFA) who donated the project to the group members to clarify some of the issues. TAACC will give light refreshment during the meeting.
Opwonya Tom Superman.
