This aims at establishing a vibrant civil society network able to articulate, promote, observe, defend human rights protection and access to justice in the project target area. It is also intended to build/strengthen the civic competence of the weak and vulnerable people at community level in the target areas to enable them defend and demand their rights. The capacity of HRDs, organizations and individuals will be strengthened to articulate, promote, observe, defend and demand for the protection of their human rights.
Access to Justice:
Access to Justice will be through legal aid / probono services, alternative dispute resolution – ADR, advocacy and engagement. Citizens’ awareness of their human rights and increased access to affordable legal services will increase Human rights protection and access to justice. The organization shall monitor, receive, investigate or verify and document information on alleged violations of human rights and use it to engage appropriate authorities or institutions. This will ensure that human rights are protected.
TAACC applies human rights based approach (HRBA) in its programming. Cross cutting issues such as gender, HIV & AIDS, environment and natural resources and poverty will also be mainstreamed in TAACC’s broader programmes and policies.
